Reprendre la conversation { ma pile de livres }

On ne peut pas changer
la manière dont les gens
agissent lors d'un conflit,
et on ne peut, en général, pas
changer la situation.
Mais,
on peut changer ses propres actions.
Dana Caspersen

You can't change
how other people
act in a conflict,
and often you can't
change your situation.
But,
you can change what you do.
Dana Caspersen

This introduction comes from the book " Changing conversation" that offers not to resolve already gone conflicts but used them in opportunities to avoid inevitable following ones and have a peaceful lifestyle.
As this afternoon I came into a violent conflict with catkins branch of chestnut tree in full spring mood which incidentally didn't hurt me (well not at that time), I felt it was time to start reading this US bestseller even (and perhaps especially) if my meeting with the branch gave me tonight an acute conjunctivitis (thanks seasonal allergies).

You can be the one who always wants to have the last word, who always shouts louder to win, who attack before being attacked, who replied with insults faster than his shadow or simply the one who feels attacked at the slightest remark, Dana Caspersen's book gives, in 17 principles, simple but effective tips to regain control of yourself.
I like the way the subject is addressed but also illustrated as the visual support effectively the author's reflexions by making it playful.
And at a time when we can go easily into conflict with anyone, beginning with oneself, this book is a nice breath of fresh air, much like a stroll that would chase the dark thoughts and fill your neuron of fresh and positive air.

As often, the pictures have nothing to do with the book except that these are the places where I strolled and read it ;)
